American Racing Club
The American Racing Club (ARC) is eager
to announce its California racing series. A
challenging drivers series
California's best
tracks.
Some of the top drivers will be pitted against each other under a
unique format and clean racing rules.
Rather than having a group of homogeneous cars run together classing will
instead be closely matched drivers of various types of cars in the same class,
all running roughly the same lap times. Imagine a CMC car dicing with a Spec
Miata, or a Ferrari Challenge 360 angling for a pass with a race-prepared
Corvette. Formula/SportsRacers will have their own class, separate from the
Sedan classes to maximize safety and competition.
Don’t think for a second that this is
going to be a ‘soft’ racing experience. It’s going to be hugely competitive,
laced with excitement and action, providing every bit of thrill any other
series provides, and then some. Drivers will be able to spend their time and
dollar budget on tires or fuel instead of repairing car-contact damage. Add
to that a dollar credit awarded to you for the next race based on where you
finished, offsetting some of the costs of racing. Now those are a few reasons
to race ARC.
ARC’s philosophy is to put racing back
into club racing, by creating a safe but
low overhead environment with practice,
qualification, and two races in one
day for each driver. You'll be able to
cross-over from other racing series, without modifications to your car,
while still being extremely competitive in
the ARC. Read on for details on how we license (certify) drivers, our
classification and points system, the 2004 race calendar, our message board,
and everything else you'll need to be a part of a new standard in club racing.

The American Racing Club is the parent
organization to the Northern California Racing Club (NCRC),
well known for safe, well organized, and trend-setting
open-track/driver-education events. Quickly growing, with more than 2000
members, the NCRC puts on more than 20 track days each year. ARC
will hold events in California, with plans to expand beyond California in
2005. If you would like to start an ARC
chapter in your area, please contact us.
Where did ARC come from?
Founded in 2001 as the Northern California Racing
Club, it started as a place where street car drivers could share
track time in a safe and fun way. The club quickly grew into a thriving business with several
hundred members, continuing to grow at a very rapid rate today. We’ve gone from one event in the first year, to nine events
in 2002, to eighteen in 2003. Based on our projections, the demand for track days will be
greater than sixteen events in 2004, and almost twice that in 2005. As club membership, reputation, and opportunities grew, the
Northern California Racing Club (NCRC) has now become but one
venture of the American Racing Club.

Who Are We?
Dave Mills is a partner in the American Racing
Club and the Northern California Racing Club, organizations
promoting over thirty driver’s education, open track, and racing
events each year throughout California and Nevada. Members of
ARC/NCRC enjoy the progressive education program, friendly
atmosphere, and safe environment they get at these events. Dave made
the migration from a drag racer building his Camaro over to the road
course years ago, and has never looked back. He enjoys wrenching on
his cars whenever necessary, but a morning drive in the foothills is
what he looks forward to. Dave holds a BS degree and his career has
been in engineering and security for some twenty years, and brings
his management skills to the operational aspects of ARC and NCRC.
Luc Noel is a partner in the ARC and NCRC,
and has been racing his vintage Mustang and Trans-Am cars for years.
He looks forward to bringing some fun racing events and new ideas to
the club. |
